Doing Her Part

When Melia is not providing legal services, caring for her family, or traveling the world, she dedicates time as a community organizer to support unhoused communities in the Bay Area, CA.

Melia also acquires grants and volunteers with non-profits whose missions cater to youth aging out of the foster care system and access to arts and cultural enrichment to youth from low-income communities.

Melia’s most sacred community work is dedicated to honoring her father’s life and legacy. When he suddenly passed away, Melia, with the help of some stellar individuals and organizations garnered financial and in-kind support to host a community wellness day for his former unhoused community in the East Bay Area of Northern California.

Over the last three years, they have provided hundreds of unhoused people with food, hygiene packs, winter clothing, underwear, warm showers, haircuts, acupressure and massages, vaccines, pet supplies, fun and more.
